About the Item

THIS PIECE IS AVAILABLE FRAMED. Please reach out to the gallery for more information. ABOUT THIS PIECE: Let's not pretend that we don't enjoy 80's music. ABOUT THIS ARTIST: Floyd P. Stanley is an LA based photographer creating product shot photographs of mixed tapes. Stanley and a few of his friends created the different labels for mix tapes popular in the '80's and 90's. He outsourced the artwork on some of the tapes so they would each have a different feel and handwriting. Stanley then photographed the tapes as objects on a white background. They are great gifts if you know a friend's favorite Karaoke song. Our curators have also sold them in pairs as wedding gifts. His and her's favorite mix tapes are an adorable gift. ADDITIONAL SIZES AND FRAMING: Additional sizes are available. Please inquire for more information on larger sizes. We offer fully archival professional framing for all prints for an additional cost. Framing is available in white, black or natural wood and prints can be framed either with or without a mat board. We also offer face mounting to plexiglas. Please inquire for pricing and more details on our framing. PACKAGING: 30x40" and 40x60" prints are shipped in a special fortified tube to guard against bending or damage. Framed 30x40" prints are shipped via FedEx in a bespoke cardboard box with a fitted interior armature for the frame. We do not frame the extra large, 40x60" print sizes because they are too large to ship without risking damage. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: Unframed prints ship internationally via DHL. The international shipping cost does not include the tax & duties, which will be the responsibility of the customer. Unfortunately, because of the high shipping cost we do not ship framed prints internationally at this time.800

    Located in London, GB
ATO>MIC #13, 2020 Unique Gelatin Silver Print/ Luminogram and Photogram technique, Printed on tea infused fibre based paper, Framed: custom made frame with anti-reflective art glass Print size: 23 x 18 cm Framed: 38 x 35.5 cm Unique Series: ATO>MIC Signed and dated in pencil on print's verso Certificate of Authenticity provided The 3D concepts that were first expanded in the same art movement by El Lissitzky a hundred years ago, are also explored here by Jackson’s drowned thin line within the third of the image. In his vision, the line reflects a shelf with the object on top, by adding the weight to it, the gravity pushing them down. "At first glance the viewer may only see geometric spherical shapes with added lines and rectangles on tea toned Silver Gelatin paper. "The supremacy of pure artistic feeling" rather than the visual depiction of objects assign to the art movement of Suprematism comes to one's mind. Similarly, like a giant of abstract art Kasimir Malevich, Jackson wants the viewer to look further, deeper than one might usually. The feeling of 'sensation' of the ATO>MIC prints, the sharpness of the forms, the intensity defying its size to condensed 9 x 7 inches' paper, make it all the more dramatic to look at. It takes the viewer to another level of fantastical world of creation." About the Artist: Michael G Jackson...
