About

Tony Soulié is an established contemporary French artist who works as a successful painter, photographer, installation artist and writer. He uses his frequent travels as inspiration for his distinctive abstract pieces.
Tony Soulié was born in Paris in 1955 and still lives and works in the city. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and the École des Arts Appliqués, both in Paris. In the 1970s and 1980s Soulié was a part of the French art movement ‘Nouvelle Abstraction’.
He has been described as a “nomadic artist” who combines his work as an artist with his taste for voyages in diverse and extreme landscapes like deserts, volcanoes, dense forests and big cities. Although he is generally referred to as a painter, he has also created numerous artist’s books, sculptures, performances and land art installations.
