LE Hand Embellished Giclee on Canvas : Transcendent Achievement Through Transfor
Located in Charelston, SC
Noland Anderson is a self taught portrait artist who strives to create works of art that are a celebration of people of color. He is known for his detailed compositions in oils applied with loose brush strokes. He often features images of Black women and men engaging in everyday life in urban settings. Born in Newport News, Virginia with roots in Sumpter, SC, Noland's passion for figure drawing was formed at an early age. Noland attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale where he received an Associate Degree in Advertising. Upon graduating, he went on to work as a freelance illustrator, designing Judaic art throughout the mid 1990s through early 2000s. During this period, Noland's freelance work extended into television where he worked as one of three court artists for the ABC affiliate in South Florida and as an illustrator for Univision (an American media company serving the Latin Market worldwide). Noland is represented by Neema Fine Art Gallery. Neema Fine Art Gallery will donate 15% of the subtotal of each purchase of "Transcendent Achievement Through Transformational Leadership" to the Beta Nu Foundation in an effort to support the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha in their efforts to support the needs of the FAMU student body, the needs of the surrounding community, and promote scholarship among Alpha Phi Alpha members and beyond. FRUIT FOR SALE
Located in Santa Monica, CA
FRANCES H. GEARHART and Sisters (THE GEARHARTS) FRUIT FOR SALE c.1928 Color block print. Unsigned. This is an original block print from “Let’s Play”, an intended but unpublished children’s book done in collaboration with her sisters Edna and May in 1928. Image 8 x 7 inches. On a tissue thin laid paper. Irregular sheet 9 3/8 x 8 1/2. The entire series consisted of over 20 children's images. There were very few printed. The editions of the various children varied but likely no more than 50. This impression very well printed with good colors, Very good condition. The margins are likely as issued with the irregular edges. The margins and paper used for this series varies from one print to the next. A bit of tape remnants at top center sheet edge. A very nice example of this print. It is not unusual for impressions of this series to be unsigned, although many are signed "The Gearharts" The Provenance of this example is fascinating. It was acquired from a gentleman who knew the Gearharts as a child in the early 50's in Pasadena. It was part of a collection given to him by Frances. In his adult years he was in the military and took the collection with him as he traveled around Europe, After 81 years, based on the original prints, this book was published by the “California Book...

Untitled (Fleur Tombe), 1962
Located in Palo Alto, CA
The rich blue color bursts from the page in Georges Braque Untitled (Fleur Tombe), 1962, overtaking the black lettering and white background. Drawn onto the title page of the book “Braque Le goût de notre temps” by Albert Skira this hand applied watercolor is striking. In several strong stokes, a flower is presented with its blue petals seeming to float down the page until almost reaching the bottom.  The delicate blue touches the page which in turn lights up with brilliant flowers. The petals are slightly smudged, and you can see the brushstrokes that Braque applied to the page. PArt of what makes this unique watercolor so wonderful is that the viewer can so clearly see and feel the hand of the artist. Caught in between the flower and falling petals is the black hand...

Rare Hand Colored "Cabane Des Hold" - 1st Ed "Description de l’Univers" C. 1683
Located in Soquel, CA
Rare Engraving "Cabane Des Hold, Terres Artiques, Fig CII," 1st edition "Description de l’Univers, page 281 This rare image depicts the Willem Barentsz expedition of 1597 to Novaya Zemlya, Russia. The engraving, with later hand-coloring, shows the cabin and ship of the Dutch arctic expedition of Barentsz on Novaya Zemlya (Nova Zembla), with the party being attacked (and in some cases apparently eaten) by bears and wolves. Dutch explorer, Willem Barentsz, reached the west coast of Novaya Zemlya in 1594, and in a subsequent expedition of 1596 rounded the northern point and wintered on the northeast coast. Barentsz died during the expedition, and may have been buried on the northern island. This artwork is a page from a book by 17th century cartographer and engineer, Allain Manesson Mallet (French, 1630-1706), "Description de L'Univers, contenant les differents systêmes du monde, les cartes générals et particulières de la géographie ancienne et modern." Fine Art Prints for Sale — Animal Prints, Abstract Prints, Nude Prints and Other Prints

Decorating with fine art prints — whether they’re figurative prints, abstract prints or another variety — has always been a practical way of bringing a space to life as well as bringing works by an artist you love into your home.

Pursued in the 1960s and ’70s, largely by Pop artists drawn to its associations with mass production, advertising, packaging and seriality, as well as those challenging the primacy of the Abstract Expressionist brushstroke, printmaking was embraced in the 1980s by painters and conceptual artists ranging from David Salle and Elizabeth Murray to Adrian Piper and Sherrie Levine.

Printmaking is the transfer of an image from one surface to another. An artist takes a material like stone, metal, wood or wax, carves, incises, draws or otherwise marks it with an image, inks or paints it and then transfers the image to a piece of paper or other material.

Fine art prints are frequently confused with their more commercial counterparts. After all, our closest connection to the printed image is through mass-produced newspapers, magazines and books, and many people don’t realize that even though prints are editions, they start with an original image created by an artist with the intent of reproducing it in a small batch. Fine art prints are created in strictly limited editions — 20 or 30 or maybe 50 — and are always based on an image created specifically to be made into an edition.

Many people think of revered Dutch artist Rembrandt as a painter but may not know that he was a printmaker as well. His prints have been preserved in time along with the work of other celebrated printmakers such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí and Andy Warhol. These fine art prints are still highly sought after by collectors.

“It’s another tool in the artist’s toolbox, just like painting or sculpture or anything else that an artist uses in the service of mark making or expressing him- or herself,” says International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA) vice president Betsy Senior, of New York’s Betsy Senior Fine Art, Inc.

Because artist’s editions tend to be more affordable and available than his or her unique works, they’re more accessible and can be a great opportunity to bring a variety of colors, textures and shapes into a space.

For tight corners, select small fine art prints as opposed to the oversized bold piece you’ll hang as a focal point in the dining area. But be careful not to choose something that is too big for your space. And feel free to lean into it if need be — not every work needs picture-hanging hooks. Leaning a larger fine art print against the wall behind a bookcase can add a stylish installation-type dynamic to your living room. (Read more about how to arrange wall art here.)
