About the Item
"I produce these monotypes layer by layer and often color by color. Each one is made with four or five separate layers of ink, starting with a solid color as the bottom layer and working up from that. My style of work is very loose and gestural, which is often not what one thinks of when talking about printmaking. However working in this monotype printing format allows me to carry my creative hand over from painting on canvas to working on paper. More interestingly to me is that this method results in each monotype becoming an individually unique piece that can never be reproduced, which I find really special." – Casey Haugh

She is drawn to the history of the spaces and lives lived within these buildings, as well as their intrinsic beauty of the structures, whether that beauty emerges from design or degradation, or some combination of the two.
