Original etching with drypoint printed in black ink on wove paper Hand-signed in pencil in the margin lower right Kandinsky, also signed and dated in the plate with the artist’s monogram lower left. A superb impression of the definitive state, from the edition of approximately 100. Published by Editions Cahiers d’Art, Paris. Catalog: Roethel 196; Friedel/Hoberg 1531. Sheet Size: 15 11/16 x 12 7/16 inches In excellent condition, printed on a sheet with wide margins This etching was published as part of a portfolio with the intention of producing financial support for the publishing firm Editions Cahiers d’Art. A preparatory sketch (listed in Kandinsky’s private catalogue of drawings, 1932-34) is in the collection of Nina Kandinsky, Neuilly-sur-Seine.
