Female semi-nude on bedding (Plate 12), Gustav Klimt Twenty-Five Drawings folio

1964

About the Item

Color lithograph created from Gustav Kilmt’s sketch of a semi-nude figure on bedding. Edited by Alice Strobl and published in 1964 by Akademische Druck und Verlagsanstalt Graz in Vienna. Klimt’s mastery of depth is most evident in the gentleness of his linework, which allow the viewer a sense of a three-dimensional person or object without the use of developed values. The lithographic process used to create the Gustav Klimt Twenty-five Drawings folio allows for exceptionally crisp linework bearing a strong resemblance to the original sketches. This series showcases the quintessence behind Klimt’s signature visual style. This work is presented in its original soft mat and arrives accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Century Guild has curated collections of Gustav Klimt’s printed works on paper for over twenty years. Please contact us directly if you’d like to learn more about this artwork.
