About the Item
No matter the seriousness (or lack thereof) of the subject, everything is always beautifully drawn on the lithographic stone by Bendiner.
In this 'Day at the Beach' scene Bendiner had drawn himself, his wife, and their dalmation, all sitting on the sand and all beset by flies. They've all grown extra arms and legs to combat this menace.
From an edition of 20, this print is signed and titled in pencil, as well as monogrammed in the stone at the lower right. Reference: McNulty 38.
