About the Item

Image dimensions: 26.5 x 20.5 cm. La Gitane de Richepin is a chromolithographed poster, monogrammed on plate on the lower right margin by the French bohemian artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Original title: Théâtre Antoine - La Gitane de Richepin. A wonderful reduction of the famous advertising poster for "La Gitane" (or the Gypsy), a drama in four acts by Jean Richepin. The play was first performed at the Theatre Antoine on January 22nd 1900. Our original print was designed by Lautrec, printed by Eugène Verneau and published by Mourlot. In excellent conditions, almost perfect, with some minor defects along with the external higher and lower margin (little holes). The bright colors and the high quality of the print and the subject make this modern artwork always fashionable.
