About the Item
Boats is an original artwork realized by Gaetano Pompa (1933, Forenza- 1998) in the 1970s.
The artwork was completed by hand watercoloring.
The work is part of an edition of 75 numbered and signed.
Very good condition.
Gaetano Pompa was born in 1933 in Forenza. After the war, he moved with his family to Rome. From 1958 to 1961, he lived in Munich, where he also carried out an intense artistic activity as a musician. When he returned to Italy, he spent most of his life in Rome. He disappeared in Orbetello in 1998.
In all his artworks, the artist tried to revive the poetry of the past through his airy and distant landscapes and his ambiguous and sometimes paradoxical figures, creating a series of suggestions that overlap with the insistence of memories, mixing past and present with a visionary enchanting faculty.
