About the Item
In 1991 Harry Sternberg published a book with Brighton Press, San Diego. It was My Life in Woodcuts. At the time it was the only known woodcut autobiography.
The deluxe editions of the book, of which there were 40, came with a set of all the images, in sheet form, each signed and numbered in pencil. The woodcuts were 'spoon printed' on Okawara paper.
This view of his high school experience recalls existence in a cage.
