Jacques Villon, American (1875-1963), Sous la Tente, Sur la Plage, Bionville, circa 1905. Ginestet Pouillon 137. Trial proof in color outside of the edition of 50. With blindstamp in lower left margin: "Ed Sagot/Editeur/Paris". Signed in pencil lower right margin: "Epreuve à Essai". A fine impression in fine condition, aside from light matburn and adhesive residue at bottom corners, not extending to image. Sheet measures 21 3/4 X 29 inches.
The models in this image are Gaby Villon, Félix Barré and his wife. There is a pastel drawing from 1904 of the same subject and dimensions.
