This artwork titled "Warming Up" c.1990 in an original color serigraph by American artist John Asaro, b.1937. It is hand signed and numbered 147/195 in pencil by the artist. The image size is 22 x 26 inches, sheet size is 26.5 x 30.25 inches. It is in excellent condition.
About the artist:
John Asaro is known for his colorful and light-filled paintings of the female figure. His subjects range from women in garden scenes to beach scenes to most recently female dancers.
Asaro studied at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California from 1955 to 1958.During his educational endeavors he studied many many great artists who helped mold his style. Asaro was motivated by Milford Ellison, a watercolor instructor and inspired by the works of Rembrandt, Rubens, Money, Sargent, Sorolla, Matisse and Bonnard.
He next attended the Art Students League in New York in 1959 studying with Frank Reilly. Asaro worked as an illustrator in Detroit, Los Angeles, and New York City from 1960 to 1973. The artist returned to Art Center College of Design as an instructor of painting until 1981 when Asaro decided to devote himself to his own fine art.
