About the Item
The King Pelé, Flag Portrait by Mr. Brainwash. Contemporary art print from an edition of 75. Wonderful collaboration with the legend, Pele. A one-color screenprint on hand-torn archival art paper, hand-finished by the artist. The piece is signed by Pele and the artist, numbered and thumb printed on the back by the artist. Mr. Brainwash had been introduced to soccer star Pelé, in Rio de Janeiro in the Summer Olympic Games. Mr. Brainwash developed a series with Pelé. The Brazilian football sports legend took the time to sign each work.
Mr. Brainwash gained notoriety from Banksy's "Exit Through The Gift Shop." Mr. Brainwash (Thierry Guetta) (French, b.1966) is a pop urban artist and videographer whose graffiti and contemporary pieces are highly loved by collectors. Mr. Brainwash was born in Garges-lès-Gonesse, Paris, France, but relocated to Los Angeles.
