Etching by Pierre Alechinsky. The piece is called "Motus Vivendi" from 2008. It is hand signed in pencil and numbered 62/90. dimensions of the paper : 225mm x 155mm. Dimension of the print 160mm x 130mm. The piece is in perfect condition. Pierre ALECHINSKY (Brussels 1927) Painter, graphic artist, draftsman Education: Alechinsky studied from 1944 to 1948 at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels La Cambre in Brussels. After completing his education, Alechinsky became a member of the Cobra group (CoBrA = Copenhagen Brussels Amsterdam) in 1949 and was Cobra's main representative in Brussels. Alechinsky participated or organized the important Cobra exhibitions in Brussels in the early 1950s. After the Cobra period, Alechinsky's work became more abstract and expressionist, partly due to his stay in Paris. Under the influence of Wallasse Ting, among others, he works increasingly in the 60s on the basis of Eastern techniques. Japanese and Chinese (caligraphy) art have a strong influence on his work. Belongs to the following movements / groups: CoBrA Exhibitions and prices: Alechinsky's work has an international reputation and he has many exhibitions to his name at home and abroad. Among other things a large solo exhibition in the Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels. His work is therefore in the collection of the major museums of modern art throughout the world.
