The Geisha Otomi is an original modern artwork realized by Utagawa Kunisada in 1860. Woodcut print oban from a tryptich. Signature: Toyokuni ga. Publisher: Maruya Jimpachi. Censored by Aratame. The geisha Otomi, the main character of a Sewamono play, a love drama in which different men fight for the favor of the geisha. In this scene, Otomi calmly watches as the handsome Yosaburo threatens her rich protector Tazaemon with a kitchen knife. Excellent impression, fresh in color, with blind printing (nose bone) and visible wood grain, lightly creased, stitching holes at left margin.
