Bob Dylan
TRAIN TRACKS 2018

2018

About the Item

Acknowledged as perhaps the most integral and sought-after artwork from The Drawn Blank Series, 'Train Tracks' is regarded as one of Bob Dylan’s most iconic and engaging images to date. Such is Dylan’s own esteem for the now iconic graphic, he returned to it in 2013, reworked it with a range of tonal variations and the result was the Side Tracks collection. Restless, and not content to put his brush down, Dylan has reinvented the image again and again over the course of these works. Boasting Dylan's signature loose lines and instinctive brushstrokes, the 14 hand-signed artworks boast some of the most iconic and sought-after graphics from the series to date. A bolder stylistic approach signifies this as the next chapter in his visual autobiography One of four in a set, sold individually or as a set. The Drawn Blank Series signed and numbered 158/295 with 15 artists proofs Comes with C.O.A by Washington Green Publishers to certify this is a limited edition print, hand signed by the artist and numbered in graphite pencil

    Located in Norwich, GB
David Koppel served his photographic apprenticeship in the rough-and-tumble world of the Fleet Street paparazzi in 1980’s London when his skills captured the very essence of the Me Decade that gave birth to the celebrity culture of today. Koppel’s classic photographs of Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton & the Royal Family appeared in every major newspaper and magazine and marked him out as that rarity amongst press photographers: the artist with a camera. Building on the reputation gained through the photographs for the book Still Waters, his black-and-white portraits of ordinary people now rank among the many famous names in his portfolio. Koppel also went one better and in 2002 bought the St Giles St Gallery , bringing the best of local and international contemporary art and photography to Norwich, including the works of Sir Peter Blake, Terry O’Neill, David Bailey, Maggie Hambling, Storm Thorgersson, Tim Woolcock...
