About the Item
Original vintage poster advertising Hotels Seiler Zermatt featuring a great illustration by Edi Hauri (1911-1988) of a canvas painting of a basket of alpine flowers with a tag on a ribbon reading Sommer In Zermatt / Summer In Zermatt leaning against a traditional metal wine jug with the bold stylised lettering below. Founded in 1855, the Seiler Hotels of Mont Cervin Palace and Hotel Monte Rosa have provided accommodation for visitors to the village and formed an important part of Zermatt's tourism history. Zermatt is located in the Valais region in southern Switzerland and is a popular mountain resort for hiking and climbing in the summer and for skiing and other winter sports. Large size. Good condition, small restored tears on edges, minor staining, backed on linen.
