About the Item
This piece is of special interest because I like to think it is an illustration of his father's literary work. Raphael Soyer's father is the noted Hebrew scholar Abraham Soyer, author of The Adventures of Yemima - a gentle series of stories of animals, men and magic. It is noted that one story concerns a girl who converses with foxes. While I have not had the privilege to read the story, I like to think that this piece was drawn specifically for his father's story.
Printed on 100% rag, non-acid paper, Girl with Foxes is an original lithograph printed from the actual lithographic stones drawn on by the artist and printed in a famous Atelier in Paris in 1960’s Paris.
