Contemporary abstract wall sculpture by Houston artist Joe Mancuso. The work features a repeating cream colored pattern of leaves and flowers embossed in the surface of the concrete. The piece has it's original tag from Barbara Davis Gallery on the reverse. Can be hung on the wall or set on a table. Artist Biography: Joe Mancuso lives and works in Houston, Texas. He received his MFA from Indiana University and BFA from Colorado State University. Mancusoís solo exhibitions have included the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, with an accompanying catalogue; the El Paso Museum of Art, El Paso, Texas; AR Contemporary, Milan, Italy; New York University, New York; and Galveston Art Center, Galveston, Texas. Daniel Fiorda in this new series of sculptures, continues in many ways the themes that have infused his previous work. For the last several years, Fiorda has dealt with technology, obsolescence, with the trail of discarded tech that humanity leaves behind and what it says about us. The new work takes this thematic one step further. These new wall pieces feature barely concealed found objects, almost fully engulfed by concrete, and yet still eerily discernible: industrial gears, computer keyboards, objects that evoke industrial post-digital eras.
