Carole Eisner
"Skipper", Abstract, Organic, Industrial Large-Scale Outdoor Sculpture in steel

2009

About the Item

"Skipper" by Carole Eisner Rolled and welded steel I-beams Carole Eisner has worked with scrap and recycled metal for 40 years creating elegant, abstract forms welded in steel. The artist's compositions reflect the surprising malleability she finds with metal. She works with “the debris of our civilization,” reclaiming and reassembling disregarded fragments of buildings and bridges into art. In contradiction to the weight and strength of the metal, her I-beam sculptures appear light, gestural and as whimsical as a line drawing in space. Because of the curves and circles, the sculptures appear to be in constant animation. "Tornado" by Joel Perlman Abstract Metal Sculpture in steel Joel Perlman has been creating complex sculptures out of steel, bronze, and aluminum since the early 1970's. While minimalism was the predominant style of his genration, Perlman chose to push his forms into ever-more complicated, gravity defying, configurations. Perlman investigates with originality. He expands, rather than appropriates, enriching our experience with industrial materials. Contemporary, Abstract Outdoor Metal...
