About the Item

Untitled aluminum sculpture by Dina Recanati (Egyptian/Israeli, b. 1928). Unique piece created in 1987. Signed and dated at the bottom of the sculpture. Very good condition. The sculpture size without the base is 41 x 11.5 x 9 inches. Including the base, the height is 61.75 inches. About the artist: Diane Hettena born 1928, Cairo, Egypt. Graduated from French and English schools 1945. Married Raphael Recanati, 1946, in Tel Aviv, Israel. Went to London to study History and Art 1946-1948. Moved to New York 1948. Attended Art Student League 1959-1962. Studied with Jose de Creft and John Hovannes. She has gone on to exhibit worldwide with permanent works in the Israel Museum, Tel Aviv Museum, Ben Gurion Airport, The Jewish Museum (New York) among others. She is the recipient of the AICF AVIV Award and The Council for a Beautiful Israel Yakir Award.
