RESEMBLING A WINDOW IN FORM OR FUNCTION Stained and lacquered birch plywood and Plexiglas 23.5 x 15 x 3.5 in. edition of 3 About the work. "The total freedom of the form itself is the basis for all my work". Stikkelorum's work distinguish themselves by their streamlined shape. The artist plays with the form and he experiments with modern materials like fiberglass hardened epoxy, Styrofoam, laminated wood, cast aluminum and other materials that come from the world of interior and industrial design. He is constantly searching for the contrast between hard and soft, solid and liquid, color and colorless, construction and deconstruction and finally for the balance between all these possibilities. In this way he succeeds in freeing the shape from any meaning or sense. Yet at the same time it is the world around him and his own experiences in this world that are giving him the necessary inspiration.
