Lori Cozen-Geller
On Point - bright, glossy, green, smooth surfaced, abstract, wall sculpture

2012

About the Item

As glossy and reflective as the finish on a sleek corvette, this electric green, geometric wall sculpture by Lori Cozen-Geller is inspired by California car culture, 1960’s minimalism, and the unique musings of its creator. ‘On Point’ pays homage to a dear friend in Cozen-Geller’s life who, despite many challenges, lives her life ‘on point’—she is always ‘on her game.’ “People will often say my work is so playful. There’s [also] deep meaning there.” Lori Cozen-Geller Cozen-Geller lives in one of the hottest car cultures in the world. Nurtured by her father’s passion from a young age, car culture is part of the framework of Cozen-Gellers’s worldview. She uses automotive paint on her geometric pieces. Their signature colour palette, and their design has influenced her minimalist art. The true inspiration behind her work however is emotion. “You can't sit on them or use them; you can only look at them. And you can't stop looking at them. They call attention to - well, not to themselves so much as to what they are saying. They attempt to reach across a verbal-visual divide to tell stories - or, rather, to elaborate on aspects of the human, and natural, condition.” Peter Frank, Art Critic Cozen-Geller was born and raised in Los Angeles and obtained her BA from the University of Southern California. Lori's first work took shape within hours of a profound loss in her life--her father's passing. The artist translated her feelings of love and sadness onto a scrap of paper, the blueprint for her first sculpture. Her studio is in Venice Beach, California. Her work is held in private and public collections in North America. The price of this sculpture is in USD.

He works on the brilliance and dullness, transparency and opacity of the materials. The Born Wild concept The stake for Richard Orlinski through the concept "Born Wild" is to transform negative emotions into positive vital impulses, to shift from archaic instinct to a civilized emotion. The vectors of this transformation are the aesthetics of the work, the pursuit of perfection as a sculptor and the viewer's perception. Engaged in making art accessible to all, Richard Orlinski draws on popular imagery of the icons that serve his purpose. Wild Kong Open Mouth on menacing fangs, the resin gorilla...
