About the Item

Blue Flying Waves Abstract, Modern, plexiglass, set of Wall Painting Sculptures 2021. These small sized sculptures are part of the Waves series. They are painted with acrylic paint, spray paint and pastels. They are sculpted by hand using heat as a method to make the plexiglass moldable. This include a set of four Wall sculptures Mixed media on Plexiglass, hand sculptured. Blue/turquoise are the predominant colors but also a vibrant palette with yellow, orange and red are adding light to the sculptures. The total size of the installation will depend on the design of the sculptures. Super simple installation system with magnets that allows you to change places very easily. Sculpture's sizes: 13H x 12W x 3D 11H x 13W x 3D 14H x 8W x 2 1/2D 9 1/2H x 8W x 2 1/2D The set of four sculptures allows you to compose them according to the space, either vertically or horizontally or simply as you like. They are very easy to install and through magnets you can vary the positions and alternate the pieces. My work combines aspects of architecture, the urban environment, bright graffiti colors, and a duality of structure with chaos. Curves, illusory perspectives, geometry, and urban symbols are among some of the tools I use in making my work. Innovation with materials is a key component as I have used plaster and plexiglass. Sculpting with three-dimensional materials, I create waves and feelings of the organic while also referencing the architectural world through the use of geometry. I am inspired by the architectural masters Zaha Hadid and Frank Gehry. On both flat and dimensional surfaces, I paint shapes that act as recurring symbols and enigmatic messages emerge as a kind of cryptic language. I identify these hidden symbols as a kind of "spiritual alphabet" that comes from within, spelling out subconscious messages from deep within me. I combine the curvilinear with the straight to insert the organic into the angular square, breaking the rational into the new and fantastic.
