His "illusion sculptures" are only 1/8th of an inch thick and yet they appear to be 3 dimensional boxes with open centers that are stacked on top of each other. I have included a side view so that you can see how thin this illusion sculpture is. He first designs how the formation of "Boxes" will layout and then hand cuts the shape he has just designed. He then welds the flat sculpture he has created to the metal base. He then paints his sculpture with a trompe l'oeil or Fool the Eye effect so that the flat sculpture has volume and depth, he then paints the reverse side in the same manner so that the sculpture can be displayed facing either direction or in front of a mirror. This one of a kind unique Sculpture "4 large Red Boxes" measures 40" H x 27" W and is incredibly only 1/8" thick. The base measures 14" x 22". It is signed on the base and numbered 1 of 1. After he creates and welds aluminum sculpture, Sanseviero then paints the sculpture to create the illusion effect. I have also included photos from our gallery so you can see the size and scale of sculpture.
