Stuart Krisel (1930-1999). Untitled, c.1970. Vermont marble. 23.5 x 10.5 x 9.5 inches. Unsigned. Provenance: Estate of Stuart Krisel. As one flat side is unpolished and bears two drill holes, the intended orientationl was probably horizontal. However, we prefer a vertical orientation, simply positioning unpolished side to back. Excellent condition. Biography: Stuart Krisel Born: 1930 New York City B.A. Princeton University 1951 M.A. Brown University, 1961 Sculpture Studies Stockbridge, Mass 1958-59, ASL, Natl Academy of Design, Bklyn Museum, Studio School Mexico, Academia San Carlos, Bellas Artes, Paris, Ecole des Beaux Arts, Italy, Henraux Sculpture Studio (workshop for Moore, Noguchi, Stahly) 1960-68 also 1958-68 Drawing, Painting, Lithography, Etching e.g. Zuniga Drawing Mexico, Hale ASL Hayter etching, Paris Pratt Graphics 5 years multimedia.
