Statement “My work is material based, conceptually oriented, and straddles the worlds of two and three dimensions. I try to transform manufactured materials into something other than what they are, then combine them with handmade elements. My work has a humorous and quirky edge although not always obvious unless it references itself. Movement, as seen through pattern and form, are essential to the work as is the personification of color. Many of my ideas are influenced by theosophy, alchemy and astrology but also modern technology and its effects upon nature. My forms are tied to symbolic mystical shapes, platonic solids such as the cube- polygons and Kabalistic grids, and their geometrical relationship to our world in flux and life in perpetuity.”
