Frank Arnold is thought by many to be one of the foremost abstract figurative painters and sculptors of our time. He is a living master whose work is considered to be both personal and universal. He divides his time between working studios in California, San Jose del Cabo and Mexico City. Arnold has exhibited his unique and expressive abstract-figurative style in multiple galleries and museums and is in numerous collections, worldwide.
Standing at 22 inches tall, “Caballo Arroyo” is a quarter-life size scale piece with a deep bronze patina, hand rubbed to a subtle blend of highlights and dark contrasting hollows. Thematic inspiration for many of Arnold’s cast pieces is discovered through his work as an abstract figurative painter, hence the cross over of some titles. Says Arnold, “Other than my school years, like some painters, I began sculpting later in my career. It has taken time to adjust to the medium and achieve a texture and form that is to my liking. I want each piece to have a painterly look.”
