The Gray Stallion

About the Item

The Gray Stallion is an abstract Cubist sculpture of a horse. Made primarily from wooden sticks of various sizes and textures, The Gray Stallion is sealed with wax and putty, including on the string used for the nose, painted with acrylic paint and finished with a coat of urethane. I created this sculpture as a continuation of a series begun as Cubist paintings and drawings of Don Quixote on his horse named Rosinante, and of Don Quixote's fantasy maiden, Dulcinea. The drawings became paintings, the paintings became sculpture, and Don Quixote disappeared.
