'Leaping Hares' Sterling Silver Limited Edition Sculpture by Lucy Kinsella

contemporary

About the Item

A ‘Leaping Hares’ sterling silver sculpture by Lucy Kinsella, the limited edition finely modelled pair of long eared hares caught mid confrontation with one stood tall on stretched hind legs, the other leaping through the air, front legs outstretched towards his opponent. They have been sculpted in Kinsella’s distinctive, dynamic style and aptly demonstrate her ability to convey energy and movement in her pieces through her naturalistic rendering of the animals she portrays. This pair would make a striking addition to any mantle piece, table or sideboard. Length 23cm x height 20.5cm 1086 grams About the Artist Born in Hampshire in 1960, Kinsella now lives in Leicestershire. As an animal sculptor inspired by Barye, Degas and Bugatti, her work ranges from delicate table-top bronzes to life-size and monumental sculpture. Kinsella’s trademark is her expressive handling and fine detailing, capturing movement and energy. Her work is held in many collections in the UK and around the world.
