The same goes for floral-inspired design elements.<\/span> We\u2019re constantly inspired by new and interpretations of botanical forms, so we\u2019ve asked leading interior designers to share their favorite ways to freshen up a space with florals.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking for a quick floral fix? For a dining room arrangement that puts the flowers in the spotlight, try designer Ashley Hicks\u2019s favorite centerpiece technique<\/a>. Hicks says he prefers using \u201csmall vases, old medicine bottles and shot glasses\u201d lined up down the table with each flower in its own vase to get maximum drama. Each has its own personality which gets lost when they’re all bunched together.\u201d The best part about this, of course, is that the more mismatched the vases, the better. This <\/span>Adolfo Abjon Melancholia vase<\/span><\/a> and this <\/span>Tiffany & Co. crystal corkscrew vase<\/span><\/a> are two of our current favorites subtle glass vessels.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bold floral wallpapers are not to be feared, according to New York\u2013based designer Fawn Galli<\/a>: \u201cMany people shy away from large-scale patterns, but large-scale florals are made for small spaces. They evoke a special feeling of being in a garden, something that is so successful in smaller spaces.\u201d This powder room is proof of that notion. \u201cI chose this wallpaper for a client who is an artist that plays with scale and perspective in her own work,\u201d Galli says. \u201cWe wanted this bathroom to feel like a dreamworld.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re not ready to commit, try adding <\/span>framed floral wallpaper panels<\/span><\/a>, like these <\/span>19th-century pieces<\/span><\/a>, to your powder room walls.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the maximalist, this pattern-friendly hallway by Katie Curtis successfully combines multiple florals \u2014 from the light fixtures down to the rugs \u2014 in a space that feels verdant and rich.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Megan Olivier, associate director of Godrich Interiors, says the clients wanted them to \u201ccreate a fun environment\u201d for their children. \u201cIt needed to be playful and reflect their personality,” she says, “as well as being \u2018trashable\u2019 for a busy family of five, with two dogs!\u201d The custom sofa is based on a 1960s design and upholstered in a bold fabric from Imogen Heath.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
