created an otherworldly \u201ccabinet of curiosities\u201d to display his personal collection of contemporary art, curiosities and <em>objets trouv\u00e9<\/em> in combination with design furniture and industrial salvage pieces. \u201cWe wanted to form a dialogue between all of these different items without presenting them in a way that was overly academic or intimidating,\u201d Zandberg says. He had the walls painted black to \u201ccorrect\u201d the strange proportion of the room (it is as tall as it is wide) and to make his collections pop. The dark canvas is a dramatic backdrop for pieces like vintage oval mirrors by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/tommi-parzinger\/furniture\/\">Tommi Parzinger<\/a>, 1960s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/search\/?q=brazilian%20jacaranda%20chairs\">Brazilian Jacaranda chairs<\/a> and other items Zandberg collected throughout his life and travels.
