The results were worth the wait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The revamp of a skybox-like living room started with raising the low ceilings and opening up the squat windows that had blocked the tops of the Tetons. With the wildness more visible, Stuart needed to make the space more comfortable for the family to take in the views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn daytime, the entire valley comes alive,\u201d she says. \u201cAt night, however, all you see is the blackness beyond, so the room had to be cozy and inviting once the sun set.\u201d The designer mixed custom and vintage furnishings in a variety of textures and materials to resonate with the surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The wood-framed chairs are by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/robsjohn-gibbings\/furniture\/\">T. H. I wanted it to evoke a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/style\/mid-century-modern\/\">mid-century<\/a> feeling without being too literal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A large fireplace made of local <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/buy\/bluestone-table\/\">bluestone<\/a> grounds the living room. This is perhaps most evident in the spacious living room, where expansive views of the city provide a breathtaking backdrop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To complement the scene without overwhelming it, the designer selected a mix of vintage and contemporary pieces. A custom Prestige sectional and a vintage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/buy\/de-sede-ds-600-sofa\/\">de Sede DS 600 Snake sofa<\/a> provide ample seating (and then some). The living area is anchored by a duo of statement coffee tables \u2014 one in blacked metal with bowl-like indentations, by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/dealers\/jm-szymanski\/\">J.M. Szymanski<\/a>, and another, with an octagonal marble top and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/material\/jacaranda\/\">jacaranda<\/a> base, from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/dealers\/r-and-company\/\">R &amp; Company<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/jean-royere\/furniture\/\">Jean Roy\u00e8re<\/a> Polar Bear armchair, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/dealers\/moses-nadel\/shop\/\">Moses Nadel<\/a> Banded pouf and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/george-nakashima\/furniture\/\">George Nakashima<\/a> side table add sumptuous textures, while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/kiko-lopez\">Kiko Lopez<\/a> mirrors from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/dealers\/maison-gerard\/\">Maison Gerard<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/jean-francois-jaussaud\/\">Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Jaussaud<\/a>\u2019s 1998 photograph <em>Louise Bourgeois, Mirror, NY 20th St.<\/em> punctuate the walls. After removing the heavy decor and impractical partitions of the previous design, Langlois-Meurinne reconfigured the layout to prioritize natural light and the jaw-dropping vista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the smaller of two living rooms, a soft, neutral palette keeps the focus on the view, and custom furnishings bring subtle sophistication. A white <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/flexform\/furniture\/seating\/sofas\/\">Flexform<\/a> sofa mingles with a green velvet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/gallotti-and-radice\/\">Gallotti &amp; Radice<\/a> sofa and purple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/arflex\/furniture\/\">Arflex<\/a> armchairs, all sourced from 1stDibs, alongside a pink <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/minotti\/furniture\/\">Minotti<\/a> ottoman. Beyond, floor-to-ceiling windows frame panoramic views of Beverly Hills and Downtown L.A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Torrey revitalized the room\u2019s laser-cut-steel screens, lacquering them in white and backlighting them for a striking effect. An <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/azucena\/furniture\/seating\/ottomans-poufs\/\">Azucena pouf<\/a> upholstered in leopard spots supplies a playful touch of pattern, although Casiraghi was no fan of animal prints at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI slightly forced myself to use it because I understood it was important to Julien,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/introspective-magazine\/fabrizio-casiraghi\/\">told <em>Introspective<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAnd I actually adore it. Few, however, go as far as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/design-firms\/kerryjoyce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kerry Joyce<\/a> in this New York living room overlooking Central Park, where he custom designed every piece. &#8220;I wanted to create a space that became a backdrop to the stunning views,\u201d Joyce explains. &#8220;I strove to make it warm, inviting and timelessly modern.&#8221; And Mann did just that in the living room with a set of <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/seating\/dining-room-chairs\/origin\/french\/?item-type=antique-vintage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">French antique dining chairs<\/a> that he placed around a custom marble-topped table in the otherwise ultracontemporary space. Still, the stunning <a aria-label=\"undefined (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/studio-drift\/furniture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Studio Drift<\/a> chandelier above them almost steals the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another cool design moment?
