Thanks to the building\u2019s innovative horizontal louvers, the outdoor spaces feel temperate year-round, even in muggy Miami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn person, that terrace really is a dream,\u201d says Gregory Santos, the studio\u2019s principal and namesake. \u201cThe way the breeze moves through and the light shifts during the day makes it such a special spot.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At its heart is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/restoration-hardware\/furniture\/\">Restoration Hardware<\/a> Havana daybed, layered with pillows for afternoon siestas. A custom pink side table playfully nods to Miami Beach\u2019s rosy sidewalks, while ceramic vessels add artisanal accents. Plantings of local species \u2014 clusias, sea grapes \u2014 line the balcony like living architecture, while a fig tree stands sentry by the daybed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis isn\u2019t just a terrace,\u201d Santos says. \u201cIt\u2019s a threshold between indoors and out. And the mix of warm woods fits right in with the bucolic scenery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe wanted a space that felt both sophisticated and serene,\u201d Kuhlman says, \u201cwhere the infinity pool charm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis outdoor lounge opens directly to a covered dining room with seating for 14 on one side and to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/photo\/traditional-mediterranean-exterior-west-hollywood-ca\/9828262\/\">pool<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/photo\/traditional-mediterranean-exterior-west-hollywood-ca\/9828272\/\">raised sundeck<\/a> on the other,\u201d says Ferial Sadeghian, IDGroup\u2019s CEO and cohead, with Jeff Vance. \u201cLush landscaping softens the stone architecture, blurring boundaries and harmonizing the spaces.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This nook, outfitted with earth-toned <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/more-furniture-collectibles\/textiles\/pillows-throws\/\">cushions<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/seating\/stools\/material\/wood\/\">wooden stools<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/buy\/round-outdoor-table\/\">circular tables<\/a> reminiscent of volcanic rock, serves as a \u201ccasual social hub,\u201d she adds. \u201cThe outdoor kitchen behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/seating\/benches\/material\/stone\/\">stone benches<\/a> allows the person cooking or grilling to be a part of the gathering and converse with the guests The lengthy covered porch, or gallery, behind the home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis informal rear gallery and its projecting roof overhang are intentionally deep to allow for ample seating while protecting porch sitters from Louisiana\u2019s heavy rains,\u201d says Ledbetter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The seating area reflects the home\u2019s balance of comfort and tradition.
