Duffy\u2019s take on the meaning of the trickily balanced table? \u201cThe more substantial and solid something <em>appears<\/em>, the more devastating it is when it all comes crashing down, such as a false belief, held up and thought to be true when it\u2019s in fact the opposite. It\u2019s the shock upon realizing this that rocks you to your core.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Duffy London wants to rock us to our core. The Megalith table is an homage to two of Duffy\u2019s heroes, the science-fiction writer Arthur C. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/dealers\/duffy-london-ltd\/shop\/furniture\/?q=abyss\">Abyss line<\/a> of tables uses elaborate cross-sections of wood to produce a mesmerizing illusion of depth.
