The debut of each season\u2019s high-jewelry collections offers an opportunity to marvel not only at the brilliant craftsmanship of the top brands but also at the raw power of the gems they employ. At the recent Autumn\/Winter 2025 Couture Week presentations, the stone picks were far from typical, British Vogue<\/em> reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Non-precious stones like jasper<\/a> and chrysosprase<\/a> adorn Piaget\u2019s<\/a> Shapes of Extraleganza<\/a> collection, which has a 1960s playfulness that calls to mind Slim Aarons<\/a> images. Louis Vuitton<\/a>\u2019s Virtuosity line, for its part, expresses familiar motifs with a range of stones, including emerald beads<\/a> and captivating vivid Australian black opals<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While some brands employ unexpected stones to convey an otherworldly vision, others use them to embody the beauty of our planet. The Beyonc\u00e9-approved Parisian house Messika<\/a> evokes the desert with punchy spessartite garnets<\/a> in its Terres d\u2019Instinct collection. And, unsurprisingly for a brand with its own signature shade of blue, Tiffany & Co.<\/a> features aqua-hued stones in its jubilant Sea of Wonder line, where Paraiba tourmalines<\/a>, for instance, complement luminous moonstones<\/a>. Precious gems will never lose their luster, but these lesser-known stones deserve their newly elevated status.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
