An appreciation for Y2K fashion<\/a> is not new, but this year, both fashion designers and the seriously stylish have zeroed in on the turn-of-the-millennium\u2019s best handbags.<\/p>\n\n\n

The fixation arguably started with the revival of the Takashi Murakami<\/a> Louis Vuitton<\/a> partnership at the beginning of this year<\/a>, more than two decades after Marc Jacobs<\/a>, then artistic director of LV, hired the artist<\/a> to redesign the heritage brand\u2019s monogram, in 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n

That was followed by the rerelease of Fendi\u2019s Baguette<\/a>, which debuted in 1997 and remained popular into the noughties. More recently, both Celine\u2019s Phantom tote<\/a>, introduced in 2011, and the Paddington bag by Chlo\u00e9<\/a>, launched in 2005, have staged returns.<\/p>\n\n\n
