Los Angeles\u2019s Craft Contemporary museum is set to open a show centered on Evelyn and Jerome Ackerman<\/a> on November 15. Working in a variety of mediums, including textiles, mosaics, and metal, the Ackermans helped shape the colorful, approachable tone of California modernism. The exhibition will also contain pieces by contemporary designers Vince Skelly, Porfirio Guti\u00e9rrez and Jolie Ngo, demonstrating that the Ackermans’ spirit continues to infuse 21st-century design.<\/p>\n\n\n

The L.A. Dodgers have pulled off a repeat, winning the World Series for a second year in a row. How can jubilant fans commemorate the feat? Nabbing one of the special-edition Dodgers shirts dotted with Takashi Murakami\u2019s<\/a> signature smiling flowers \u2014 which dropped last week, according to Artnet<\/a> \u2014 seems a fitting tribute. For those seeking a truly grand gesture, paying homage to Miguel Rojas<\/a> by shelling out for a Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra necklace<\/a> might be appropriately over-the-top.<\/p>\n\n\n

In 2023, the New York Times<\/em><\/a> <\/em>announced that the Whitney Museum of American Art<\/a> had sold the Breuer<\/a> building on Manhattan\u2019s Madison Avenue to Sotheby\u2019s. Since then, there have been heated discussions about the conversion of the structure, beloved by architecture buffs. Now, the renovated building is officially open. Wallpaper<\/em><\/a> offered a first look inside, showcasing the changes Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron<\/a> made to suit its new function as the auction house’s global headquarters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And all eyes have been on the Louvre<\/a> since the theft last month<\/a> of an estimated $102 million worth of heritage jewelry from one of its galleries. Per Artnet<\/a>, the museum has now announced a security-enhancement plan.
