Thad Hayes<\/a> designed this gym for a Japanese-American family’s beach home in Watermill, New York<\/a>. The lower-level yoga and fitness room overlooks the clients’ zen-inspired rock garden. “The Noguchi<\/a> paper lantern and upholstered ‘boulders’ you see in the foreground invite relaxation and conversation,” says Hayes, adding that the pieces he chose are “directly associated with nature and its organic, tactile qualities.”<\/p>\n
