Located on the upper level of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/project\/north-carolina-home-charlotte-nc\/263102\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the family\u2019s home in Charlotte, North Carolina<\/a>, the high-ceilinged closet is \u201ca reprieve from all the masculine energy and chaos of her daily life,\u201d Lucas notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rosy space is chock-full of unique finds, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/hans-agne-jakobsson\/furniture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hans-Agne Jakobsson<\/a> chandelier with pink bulbs, a shiny bar cart and a soft-to-the-touch ottoman. In the sitting area, Adler incorporated a few pieces he designed specifically for the space, including custom armoires and a graphic rug. To these, he added furnishings from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/dealers\/jonathan-adler\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">his collection<\/a>, such as a red <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/seating\/dining-room-chairs\/maxime-velvet-brass-dining-chair\/id-f_8691643\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Maxime chair<\/a> and, in another section, his Puzzle mirror, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/storage-case-pieces\/cabinets\/talitha-brass-malachite-console-cabinet\/id-f_15173052\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Talitha cabinet<\/a> and lamp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn this dressing room design, I wanted to prove my thesis that blue is a magic color, that all blues play well with all other blues,\u201d Adler explains. \u201cWhite curtains and a white chandelier keep it crisp and nautical, and the cabinets \u2014 a 1950s Italian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/material\/pearwood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pearwood<\/a> cabinet and a brass-clad cabinet from my Talitha collection \u2014 crank up the glamour and provide storage.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The valet was another vintage find. \u201cOf course, every gentleman\u2019s dressing room needs a brass <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/buy\/valet-stands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">valet stand<\/a>,\u201d he declares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator noopener\">Tudor<\/a> home on Capitol Hill, was designed to feel like a cozy room rather than a closet, with the clothes tucked away behind a series of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/origin\/french\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">French<\/a> polished-oak drawers and doors accented with antique-brass hardware,\u201d says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/design-firms\/kyleeshintafferdesign\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kylee Shintaffer<\/a>, describing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/project\/capitol-hill-tudor-seattle-wa\/64651\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a project in a popular neighborhood east of downtown Seattle<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To give it a lived-in and well-loved feel, the designer incorporated two stately 19th-century antiques: an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/origin\/english\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">English<\/a> side table and a French cane-framed daybed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n<div Josh Linder wanted to create a closet area <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/project\/bay-village-entertainer-boston-ma\/114232\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in his own Boston apartment<\/a> that was as beautiful as it was functional. As a start, he \u201cselected a fabric for the walls that was paper-backed and applied like a wallpaper, to add softness,\u201d he says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dark space is lit by a pendant made from seatbelt-strap fabric \u2014 \u201cthe perfect material to bump into if I\u2019m up on a ladder accessing the top storage shelves,\u201d Linder explains. The chair and antique <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/style\/biedermeier\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Biedermeier<\/a> commode are both 1stDibs purchased on 1stDibs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t forget to add <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/art\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">art<\/a> to a utilitarian space like a closet,\u201d advises Morgan, who hung a signed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/creators\/gustav-klimt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gustav Klimt<\/a> print over the desk. clients didn&#8217;t have much storage space in the primary suite, so in an effort to maximize storage, I decided to build a custom wardrobe fit for all their needs.\u201d She completed the simple space with two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/seating\/stools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vintage stools<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI love the idea of built-ins, as opposed to closets, because they add a layer of detail and create an opportunity to organize your belongings in a way that feels intentional,\u201d Feldman explains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr Anderson, of JKA Design<\/a>. The space, inside a 1907 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1stdibs.com\/furniture\/style\/victorian\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Victorian<\/a> home, features a crystal chandelier with an antique look and a velvet pouf with metallic accents.
