Bruno Emiro Callegari was a great painter and musician. Famous for his ethereal and fluffy women, made with a skilfully unraveled rapid stroke, in the sea of pastel shades with strong hues. He continued to paint even when the illness forced him to stay in a hospital for three years. Like Monet, who by now old, rich and universally recognized, despite the deforming disease in his hands, had his brushes tied to continue painting, writing his story, so Emiro continued to paint.

Figurative art stands in contrast to abstract art, which is more expressive than representational. The oldest-known work of figurative art is a figurative painting — specifically, a rock painting of an animal made over 40,000 years ago in Borneo. This remnant of a remote past has long faded, but its depiction of a cattle-like creature in elegant ocher markings endures.
