Rare Early 10D Akari Floor Lamp by Isamu Noguchi for Ozeki, 1950s
By Ozeki & Co. Ltd. 1, Isamu Noguchi
Located in Echt, NL
Early important 10D Akari lamp in excellent condition. Designed by Isamu Noguchi in 1951 Produced by Ozeki & Co., Ltd. New old stock! Model 10D is a floor lamp with a metal frame and an oval shaped shade from the Akari series. This example features the earliest manufacturer's mark, a red sun and half-moon insignia. The lamp is made out of Japanese washi paper, bamboo and metal. In 1951 Isamu Noguchi visited the town of Gifu, Japan, known for its manufacture of lanterns and umbrellas from mulberry bark paper and bamboo. Noguchi designed the first of his lamps that would be produced by the traditional Gifu methods of construction. He called these works Akari, a term meaning light as illumination, but also implying the IDEA of weightlessness. The fabrication of Akari in Japan at Ozeki & Co. since 1951 followed the traditional methods for Japanese Gifu lanterns...

Wave Series/Tattooed Woman at Sunset Beach
By Masami Teraoka
Located in Palm Desert, CA
"Wave Series/Tattooed Woman at Sunset Beach" is a unique watercolor by Masami Teraoka. The framed artwork measures 22 1/2 x 17 1/2 x 1 in. “Mere depiction of social and cultural issues is not enough. My work has to create something that goes beyond simple perception. To make a strong statement, art needs timeless aesthetic qualities. These can take any subject matter to a higher level of experience. That is the essence of what I am pursuing.” – Masami Teraoka Born in Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture, Teraoka studied at what is now Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. His works are inspired by Japanese Ukiyo-e woodcut prints. However, Teraoaka infuses the style and techniques of the traditional art with American Pop Art. The mass-produced nature of Japanese woodcut prints...

Disguised Confidence
By Jason Chen
Located in Philadelphia, PA
This piece is an original artwork by Jason Chen titled "Disguised Confidence". It is made of archival pigment prints from the artist's photography that he cuts and weaves together by hand. The piece measures 22”h x 34”w and ships framed in the pictured 25”h x 37”w frame. In 2012, Jason Chen shifted his long-running focus on dry plate tintypes to a new process: photo weaving. Chen began using two separate images of the same person, then wove them together in a process exploring time, movement, process, and mutation. He has exhibited works in the series one by one over the years, but in Fragments, his 2015 solo exhibition at Paradigm Gallery, a full collection of these works were on display together for the first time. Bio // Jason Chen is originally from Guangzhou, China. He received his BFA in Animation from the University of Arts in 2008. Stella Large Wall Console Mirror Rose Gold by Nika Zupanc
By Nika Zupanc, Scarlet Splendour
Located in Kolkata, IN
Stella Large Wall Console Mirror Rose Gold by Nika Zupanc is a gorgeous mirror with starry edges in rose gold or gold. A statement piece in any interior space. Nika Zupanc, a strikingly renowned Slovenian designer, never shies away from redefining the status quo of design, moving far beyond affirming boundaries. Her consistent yet ambiguous attitude to femininity and romanticism reflects in this collection. Inspired by the eighty-eight constellations of the stars, each piece from the 88 Secrets collection tells a story, almost bashfully, as we do with secrets. Nika playfully paints with a palate of quaint colors and gold, both rose and oro, manifesting the magic of diamonds in the sky, for your very own space, introducing new values like modesty and strength through delicately designed furniture and optical illusion...
