This timeless and elegant French Chistofle vintage ice or champagne bucket is Mid-Century Modern. It is hallmarked on the bottom with the Christofle France mark and Orfevre makers mark. it reads Coll Gallia from that particular collection. This is an early piece late 50s or early 60s. It has great gage of weight and the 4 step pedestal base makes for an Art Deco to transitional to modern look. This was the original production. The Gallia collection was produced as per Christofle in Saint Denis just north of Paris. Perfect for your entertaining needs and barware. An impressive vintage European 0.87 carat diamond and 14 karat yellow gold, 14 karat white gold dress ring; part of our diverse diamond jewelry collections. This fine and impressive vintage diamond band ring has been crafted in 14 k yellow gold with a 14 k white gold setting. The ring has a flared asymmetric design ornamented with a feature 0.50 Ct transitional modern brilliant round cut diamond. The 14 k white gold setting is embellished with a further two pavé set graduated transitional modern brilliant round cut diamonds, 0.28 Ct and 0.09 Ct. The multi-layered design melds with the subtly elevated 14 k yellow gold ring shoulder, the other shoulder integrating under the setting. The ring is hallmarked to the 14 k yellow gold ring shank with the 14 k gold fineness mark 585. This vintage 1940's dress ring is supplied with an independent diamond grading certificate for the feature diamond in addition to an independent diamond grading report card for the supporting stones. Frame is 12 X 10. Canvas is 9.5 X 7.5 Calogero was born August 20, 1922 in Catania, Sicily. Self-taught Surreal Artist First exhibitions in 1945 in Sicily and Rome were very successful. He arrived in Paris in 1947 and studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He is best known for his Surrealism and genre works. His paintings are dreamlike and visionary. They travel to an infinite space created by the artist through his memories, the sky and the sea so dear to him. In his paintings there are a few common themes: the masks with their dual dimensions that hide or shows only what you want, the profiles of the women, and the horsemen, drawn as the Sicilian tradition requires. He exhibited at the Gallery Hervé in 1951 and the following year he went to New York to present his show, then in 1953 he was invited to Los Angeles, where he returned two years later, and from where he regularly exhibited his works, and San Francisco. In 1954, Maximilien Gauthier devoted a book to him published by "The Gemini." The first exhibition in Japan was in 1965. He was awarded the Grand Silver Medal by the City of Paris in 1957. Calogero had countless exhibitions in Paris, in the fifties, plus the American exhibitions in New York (Associated American Artists, 1952), Los Angeles (James Vigevano Galleries, 1953) and then later in Japan and in major galleries in Italy.
