Loris Azzaro Clothing

This sensational 1990s or early 2000's black silk crepe and lace evening gown is from Parisian house Azzaro Boutique and is an archive piece of the founder designer Loris Azzaro's iconic 1970s designs. Azzaro was popular with actresses such as Raquel Welch and Sophia Loren and renowned for his form-fitting and "slinky" evening wear, often in black and this dramatic gown is no exception. The dress is tailored to suit an hourglass silhouette, which glides over the hip from the cinched waistline into a floor length fish tailed skirt. The crepe fabric on the skirt is cut away just below the knee with a bold zig-zag and replaced with black rose patterned lace that continues the length to the hem, with triangular crepe inserts to maintain weight and form. The crepe bodice is cut into a sweetheart neckline with a low window at the reverse. It is intercepted by sheer matching lace which travels over the upper back, long sleeves and neck into a high Victoriana style collar. There are 2 x black cut glass...
