18th Century New England Country American Single Drawer Blanket Chest

A warm, nicely aged early American country single drawer lift-top blanket chest. circa 1780 Hand-crafted in the New England region of the United States in the second half of the 18th century, the chest is comprised of solid wood, most likely pine or poplar, finished with a rich, warm faux cherry graining and beautifully aged distressed reddish brown patina. Crafted in period English Chippendale taste, having a hinged lid door at the top that flips open to reveal the large sized storage trunk, fitted with a small compartment for storing smaller items. Over a single full-length drawer with quality hand-cut dovetail joinery and affixed with an unusual three batwing pulls. Raised on ogee bracket feet with carved and molded edge trim.
