Pollonaise No. 24, 1988 by Karl Gerich of Bath - Playing Card Print Sheet
Located in Meinisberg, CH
Karl Alexander Gerich (English, 23.4.1956 - 4.1.2016) Pollonaise No. 24, 1988 - Etching - Sheet ca. 27.8 X 42 cm - No plate mark - Varnished ('Glossy Antique French') Finished, coloured, backed and varnished print likely to be a spare sheet (over production), which were never used. Possibly at some later stage, Karl experimented by partially painting the back with divering number of layers of pink. Held up as finished cards the pink would then shine through the varnished card. By holding up the sheet, this effect can be observed in areas with and without the pink backing. Sheets is in good condition and suitable to be framed. Karl was a brilliant playing card maker and certainly one of the most genius artist-craftsmen I had the pleasure to learn about his work and know. He could do it all: Come up with the tale, weave meaning(s) into it, fill it with spirited characters of his liking, draw it, etch it, print it, colour it and handcraft the inks, paper and card into wondersome packs of playing cards, each of them living in their own, most exquisitely crafted boxes. Every pack a magical marvel, filled with the spirit of this genius card maker … All this he did using his Adana printing press, very simple hand tools and great skill. When Karl closed down his studio in St.Peter’s Terrace in Bath, England and moved to Poplar Close, he sold off work for which he felt he no longer wanted to be the custodian. So a number of prints reached the market then. Printed sheets by Karl Gerich...

ZANG TUMB TUMB - Rare Book - 1914
Located in Roma, IT
One of the main and most famous works by the Italian futurist poet F.T. Marinetti ( Alessandria d'Egitto , 1876   –  Bellagio ,  1944 ), clearly inspired by the Adrianople siege in 1912, which he witnessed as a reporter for L'Intransigeant . It is considered one of the most typical futurist work, since the author conceived it using different fonts, dimensions and other graphic elements that were responsible to take the reader right inside the battle. In fact, “the dynamic rhythms and onomatopoetic possibilities that the new form of expression offered, was made even more effective through the revolutionary use of different typefaces, forms and graphic arrangements and sizes that became a distinctive part of Futurism. ” (Caroline Tisdall-Angelo Bozzola...

Flowers, (After) Andy Warhol -Pop Art, Tapestry, Edition, Contemporary, Design
Located in Zug, CH
(After) Andy Warhol Flowers, 1968 Hand Woven Wool Tapestry 183 x 183 cm (72 x 72 in) Edition of 20 With the knotted name ‘ANDY WARHOL’ lower right and the embroidered annotation ‘WARHOL ©’ on the reverse Published by Modern Master Tapestries, NY Throughout art history, the flower and its symbolism have been a subject matter for many renowned artists. Andy Warhol explored the qualities of the flower image through his Pop Art prism in the Flower series of 1964, thus creating cartoon-like symbols that would be instantly recognized. The 1964 Flower series became one of his most iconic and successful works. Based on a discovered photograph of hibiscus blossoms, Warhol drenched the flowers’ floppy shapes with a variation of vibrant colors, transforming them into psychedelic indoor décor. Playing with traditional art historical themes, Andy Warhol gave a particular twist to this historically accepted symbol of life. The electric colors of his flowers, drawn from a darker and rich undergrowth background might be the indicator of an extreme vision of life, a life lived on the edge. Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American artist, a leading figure of the Pop Art movement. Using a variety of media materials from photographs up to computer-generated art, Warhol's works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity, culture and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. Emerging from the poverty and obscurity of an Eastern European immigrant family in Pittsburgh, Warhol became a charismatic magnet for bohemian New York. In 1960, he began to produce his first canvases depicting Popeye and Dick Tracy. After Marilyn Monroe’s death in August 1962, he started working from snapshots of the star’s already legendary face, which had been widely distributed by the world’s press. His choice of subjects clearly relates to an obsession with demise – his Marilyns, his Ten Lizies (created when the actress Elizabeth Taylor was seriously ill), and also his Elvis. Part of the “Death and Disaster” series, Andy Warhol´s...

Untitled, Acrylic on Canvas, Orange, White Contemporary Indian Artist “In Stock”
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Rahim Mirza - Untitled Acrylic on Canvas, 12 x 12 inches (unframed size) Born in 1969, Rahim Mirza completed his art education at Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal, where he studied printmaking. Mirza’s current body of work however, is largely made up of acrylics on canvas. The leaf occupies a central motif in much of his work, representing, perhaps, a multiplicity of emotions; while the appearance of the first leaf signifies Spring and renewal, the shedding of the brown leaves in Autumn heralds the onset of winter. It is these subtleties and the complexity of the simple motif that intrigue the artist. While Mirza focuses on the leaf, he chooses to remove it from its natural environment. Thus while the leaf is a prominent symbol in his work, there generally is no sign of a tree or any context beyond its form. In its multiplicity, the artist creates rhythm and meaning that is far beyond its reach. Mirza had his first solo exhibition at Crimson Art Gallery, Mumbai, in 2000. This was followed by others at Archer Art Gallery, Ahmedabad, in 2001; and Diara art Gallery in 2002. His work has also been a part of group shows like 'Collective Spaces' at M.E.C. Art Gallery, New Delhi...

Annette Selle - "Morning" - unique original oil painting on canvas
Located in Winterswijk, NL
Annette Selle - "Morning". It is important to me to create an art space that enables the viewer to connect this space with his or her own reality. It is up to the viewer alone to decide how he or she perceives the landscape space; the picture conforms to the visual intention. In the process, other certainties also disappear. What is going on with the ground, with its red between the light bands? If you engage with it, it loses its solidity, it is as if you are looking down past bright ribs and bars into a cloudy, red bottomlessness. Country of Origin: Germany. Signed: Yes. Topic: Landscapes. Image Size: 90 x 130 cm. Total Size: 90 x 130 cm. Orientation: Landscape. Primary Color: Yellow. Secondary Color: Red. About the artist Annette Selle: Studied painting at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee, also art education at the Humboldt University. Since 1999 continuous exhibitions. Vintage Poster Clinton Capitol Building Pop Art Hand Signed Peter Max Lithograph
Located in Surfside, FL
Artist: Peter Max, German/American (1937 - ) From the President Bill Clinton Inaugural, An American Reunion, New Beginnings, Renewed Hope Poster depicting the 1993 inauguration of Bill Clinton at the Capitol Building. Hand signed in marker with dedication Year: 1993 Medium: Poster Size: 36 in. x 24 in Provenance: collection of Friede & Rubin L. Gorewitz Peter Max (born Peter Max Finkelstein, October 19, 1937) is a German-American artist known for using bright colors in his work. Works by Max are associated with the visual arts and culture of the 1960s, particularly psychedelic art and pop art. Max was born in Berlin, the son of German Jews, Salla and Jakob. They fled Berlin in 1938, settling in Shanghai, China, where they lived for the next ten years. In 1948, the family moved to Haifa, Israel, where they lived for several years. Peter attended school in Mount Carmel, but was often drawing instead of taking notes. His principal suggested to his parents that he be put in art lessons after school, and he began to study under Professor Hünik, a Viennese Expressionist. From Israel, the family continued moving westward and stopped in Paris for several months—an experience that Max said greatly influenced his appreciation for art. In their short time in Paris, Max's mother enrolled him in drawing classes at the Louvre, where he began to study Fauvism. After nine months in Paris, Max and his family made their final move, settling in Brooklyn, New York, USA. In 1956, Max began his formal art training at the Art Students League of New York in Manhattan, studying anatomy, figure drawing and composition under Frank J. Reilly who had studied at the League alongside Norman Rockwell. In 1962, Max started a small Manhattan arts studio known as "The Daly & Max Studio," with friend Tom Daly. Daly and Max were joined by friend and mentor Don Rubbo, and the three worked as a group on books and advertising for which they received industry recognition. Much of their work incorporated antique photographic images as elements of collage. Max's interest in astronomy contributed to his self-described "Cosmic '60s" period, which featured psychedelic, counter culture imagery. Max's art was popularized nationally through TV commercials such as his 1968 "un cola" ad for the soft drink 7 Up which helped drive sales of his art posters and other merchandise. In 1967, Max solidified his place as a counter cultural icon by designing the flyers for the second ever 'Be In', a political gathering of mainly hippies in New York's Central Park after the Easter parade on March 26, 1967. In 1970, many of Max's products and posters were featured in the exhibition "The World of Peter Max," which opened at the M.H. de Young Memorial Museum in San Francisco. The United States Postal Service commissioned Max to create the 10-cent postage stamp to commemorate the Expo '74 World's Fair in Spokane, Washington, and Max drew a colorful psychedelic scene with a "Cosmic Jumper" and a "Smiling Sage" against a backdrop of a cloud, sun rays and a ship at sea on the theme of "Preserve the Environment." According to The New York Times, "His DayGlo-inflected posters became wallpaper for the turn on, tune in, drop out generation." On July 4, 1976, Max began his Statue of Liberty series leading to his efforts with Chrysler CEO Lee Iacocca to help in the restoration of the statue. Max has been the official artist for many major events, including the 1994 World Cup, the Grammy Awards, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Super Bowl and others. In 2000, Max designed the paint scheme Dale Earnhardt...

Twenty Marilyn-Contemporary Editions, Andy Warhol, Framed, Enamel, Pop Art
Located in Zug, CH
ANDY WARHOL (after) Twenty Marilyn, 2010 Enamel on porcelain Edition of 49 51 x 51 cm (20.1 x 20.1 in.) Signed in glaze, numbered on the reverse on label In wooden box, accompanied by Certificate of Authenticity from the Rosenthal Studio in collaboration with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the visual Arts INC., New York. In excellent condition Framed Of all Andy Warhol's celebrity subjects, none seem more perfectly emblematic of how the artist perceived and synthesised America than Marilyn Monroe. Warhol saw in Monroe all the promise, beauty, sex symbol, a Hollywood product, the fame and tragedy that 1960s America was capable of realizing. In his Marilyn portraits – which he began shortly after Monroe's death, in August 1962 and taking on the suggestion of Henry Geldzahler - it's impossible to locate what one might call the truth of the subject. Based on Warhol's painting Marilyn Diptych, which belongs to the collection of the Tate Museum in London. Marilyn's repeated face in a grid, is a clear indicators of Warhol's conceptual commercial printing. Every Saturday night and Sunday morning, the young Andrew Warhola and his mother made a 3 mile walk to Saint John Chrysostom church, a small Byzantine Catholic church. In the church he saw the iconostasis, which was a grid with religious pictures...

Untitled, Tempera on Board by Modern Indian Artist Lalu Prasad Shaw "In Stock"
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Lalu Prasad Shaw - Untitled - 25 x 20.5 inches Tempera on Board, 2015 Style : Known widely for his highly stylized portraits of Bengali women and couples, Lalu Prasad Shaw’s works lay the most emphasis on his subject’s physical characteristics. Capturing the expressions of his subjects perfectly with the greatest economy of line and colour each of Shaw’s paintings has an intimate feel to it. Influenced by the pre-independence Company School of art, the traditional Kalighat Pat and the Ajanta cave paintings, Shaw’s works, mainly executed in gouache or tempera, like his own person, are simple and graceful, having a very still, well-composed and smooth exterior. This senior artist draws his inspiration primarily from nature and the milieu surrounding the great Bengali middle class, often depicting pleasant and quiet scenes from his own life on his canvases and papers. His style is unique and modern in its adaptation of academic and traditional Indian formats. A particularly notable aspect of Shaw's paintings is their simple yet sophisticated look. One notices a seamless synthesis of different stylistic elements to achieve a phenomenal effect. About the Artist and his work : Born : 1937 in Bengal. Education : completed his education in fine arts at the Government College of Arts and Crafts in Kolkata. International Shows : 1970 - Second British Biennale in London; 1974 - Norwegian Print...
