Bucherer Weather Station Desk 15 Jewel Clock, Barometer, Hygrometer, Thermometer
By Arthur Imhof, Bucherer
Located in Soquel, CA
A wonderful Gold toned, brass weather station, 15 Jewel lever escapement, (Lever escapement is used in an accurate pocket watch) 8 day desk clock by Swiss clock makers Bucherer and Imhof. Four instruments are combined in this sleek and compact cube design; a thermometer that measures temperature in both centigrade and Fahrenheit, a barometer to measure atmospheric pressure, a hygrometer for humidity, and finally a 15 jewel clock. Each face of the cube swings out for access to the adjustment dials on the back of each instrument. 8 day, 15 Jewel clock is keeping very good time, Barometer appears to reflect rising and falling of pressure very near accuracy, Hygrometer Humidity gauge has been tested and adjusted and reflects correct indoor humidity 40% (heated) -55% (unheated) but may need calibrating. Temperature gauge operates within normal range. We will continue measuring time and gauge accuracy during the wet season and monitor levels for accuracy. Back of clock is stamped: Serial number 1565013 15 jewels SWISS Lever Escapement c.244 Overall measurements: 4.5"H x 3"W x 3"D. Arthur IMHOF SA was founded at La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1924. Known for the manufacture of elegant desk and table watches, the slogan Manufacture de Pendulettes d’Art et Réveils identifies it for the production of quality models, so much so that it is defined in the world of collecting as the Rolls Royce of watches. BUCHERER - SWISS WATCH & FINE JEWELLERY EXPERTS, Founded 1888 In 1888, merchant and entrepreneur Carl-Friedrich Bucherer opened the first specialist watch and jewellery store in Lucerne together with his wife, Luise, thereby laying the foundations for a successful family business. The sons of Carl-Friedrich and Luise Bucherer joined the family business at the beginning of the 1920s. Thanks to their wealth of experience, Ernst and Carl Eduard Bucherer led the business to even greater success. Ernst Bucherer entered into a particularly fruitful partnership with Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, in 1924, adding the watch brand – which at the time was barely established – to the Bucherer range. Today, Rolex is one of the most famous watch brands...
