About the Item

Superb original British abstract oil painting, from the 1980's period. The painting is by the hitherto undiscovered abstract painter Isaiah Gerard Calleja (1936-2016), who was based in the South West of England. We have handled a number of his paintings - all of which came from the artists estate. The artists work was not prolifically exhibited - and as such not seen on the open market properly until now. One can see influences of other period expressionist and abstract painters in his work - thickly applied impasto oil, amazingly bright swathes of colour intermingled with shapes and patterns. It makes an instant impact and looks most impressive. Presented in its original wooden surround frame, the painting is in good condition. The painting is stunning and we highly commend this artist to you. We can ship it worldwide.
