Hand-signed by the artist in verso.
A contemporary minimalist encaustic work by artist Michele Renée Ledoux, this square format artwork features a neutral and simple color palette of a grayish white broken up by moments of black. The abstract composition features a series of small raised dots, almost forming a pattern, but still organically placed. There is a great play of light to dark and a tremendous amount of tactile texture. The surface also features a natural distress that brings forth the spirit of the work and calls to the artistic process of creation.

About the Artist:
1967, Boston, MA, American Michele Renée Ledoux is best known for using fire + wax to create primarily black and white, contemporary abstract paintings using the ancient technique of encaustic, most known for its vibrant colors. The work has a heavy sculptural aspect, features uneven surfaces, cuts, cracks and chips; and often incorporates recycled material. The work is neutral in palette, architectural in style and organic in process and texture. Ledoux’s work is held in numerous private collections and has been widely exhibited nationally and internationally, garnering multiple “Best of Show” awards.
