About the Item

Patty deGrandpre’s “Scorched (with Adirondack chair) ” is an 11 x 8.875 inch unique inkjet monoprint represented on 16.5 x 11 inch Awagami Bamboo paper embracing both digital printmaking and creative photography. A predominately blue image of a rural Texas roadside, yucca, and scenic plateau occupies the top of this vibrant contemporary print. Vivid orange hues depicting a southwest woodland landscape sits below and blends within the cool blue interrupting the two distinct halves of this modern minimalist pictorial. A superimposed black Adirondack chair is whimsically out of place over the blue deserted roadway. deGrandpre’s vast catalog of photographs of her travels and life experiences become the catalyst for her artworks. Images are deconstructed, cropped, and layered as she skillfully combines the pictorial with a strong sense of graphic design. deGrandpre’s inkjet printer becomes her press as she prints layers upon layers of ink creating elegant compositions with lavish color and tone. This refined print is signed and dated under the bottom right corner of the image and will ship flat in a protective sleeve ready for the frame of your choice. This modern landscape would make a striking addition to any contemporary collection. Patty deGrandpre is a Massachusetts based artist. She has participated in many exhibitions both on local and national levels. She has been featured in a number of periodicals and has received multiple awards for both fine art and printmaking. Patty deGrandpre is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.
